Issue No. 4

3rd September 2025

Hello there,

Today is the official launch of The Cozy Cottage! I believe this calls for three cheers of celebration β€” hip hip hooray, hip hip hooray, hip hip hooray! πŸ₯³

Firstly, I want to say a massive thank you for being a subscriber to my blog and newsletter! I'm so grateful to have you as a supporter of my writing. Every time you open one of my emails, read my blog, leave a comment on a video, or like a photo I've shared it makes my day that much brighter. Truly, thank you for being here and for encouraging me as I grow my creativity.

I'm not crying. My eyes are just watering with happiness. Hehe! πŸ₯Ή

Happy Launch Day!

Over the past few months, I've been working diligently to slowly build up The Cozy Cottage in preparation for the official launch. It kind of feels like I'm throwing a housewarming party. So in honor of this celebratory milestone, I've selected books with memorable scenes of parties or festivities. Here are six stories containing mirth, joy, and good cheer plus one nonfiction plant-based cookbook. It's filled with lots of delicious recipes that would be perfect for any celebration:

If you're in the mood for some more writing by me, I recently published two posts on the companion blog, which is hosted on my website. I hope you enjoy them both: "Creative Hobbies that Cultivate Joy" and "Creative Hobbying based on Your Astrological Sign."

The Lovely & Cozy Book Club

We're still reading Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell by Susanna Clarke through the end of this month. Beginning in October, we'll resume reading books on a monthly basis. Members of the club voted, and we'll start off the spooky season by reading Practical Magic by Alice Hoffman. You can read along and participate in book club discussions and polls by joining us on the Fable app*.

August in Review

Last month was beautiful, lush, and enchanting as well as busy, challenging, and ever-changing. I really leaned into being adaptable while also showing myself kindness when I had to adjust my plans. I spent a good bit of my time in nature, which helped me tremendously. I feel so grateful everyday to live where I do.

As August came to a close, I also found myself feeling some trepidation for September. As Western North Carolina approaches the one year anniversary of Hurricane Helene, I cannot help but worry and hope that this year’s hurricane season will spare our region. We are still healing.

I do take comfort in knowing that if the worst were to happen again that we are a strong and caring community. We are resilient, and we can recover. With that said, I'll still continue to cross my fingers throughout this month. I really hope that Asheville and the surrounding area won't have its grittiness tested again.🀞

As always, I’ll continue to be stubbornly optimistic while also being practical and prepared!

Happiness lies in the joy of achievement and the thrill of creative effort.

Visual Storytelling

In case you missed any of my August videos on YouTube, I've linked them below. Vlogs are becoming one of my favorite types of long-form videos to make. Also, my "Let's Visit the Library" series continues to do very well, as my channel views have been steadily increasing!

The Best Plant-based Dinner in Asheville

I've got something a little different and extra special for this section of the newsletter. My Wife and I were recently gifted an amazing dinner at a local fine-dining and fully vegan restaurant in Asheville. From start to finish our dining experience at plant was superb!

This is in no way a sponsored shoutout. I just genuinely cannot stop thinking about or praising the food and service we enjoyed there! I love eating and cooking, and I consider myself as above average in the kitchen. The chefs at this vegan restaurant truly blew my mind and my palate! Obviously, I don't have any of their recipes to share, but I do have some yummy food photos. If you're ever in the Asheville area, I highly recommend saving up for a special occasion and treating yourself to a meal at plant.
